Traveling by air:
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is the closest airport to Tufts University. The most common types of transportation used from the airport, are taxis, hotel shuttle and by the public transportation system called the “T”.
Taxi: Taxis can be found at the ground transportation area outside each terminal. Taxi fare to Tufts University is about $40 depending on traffic and the time of day. For good service it is customary to tip about “15%” in addition to the fare.
Public Transportation:
If you are coming by subway, or “T,” you can take the Silver Line to South Station and take the Red Line to the Davis Square Station. Exit the Davis Square Station on the College Avenue side. You may take the #94 or #96 bus (which both leave from the Davis Square T entrance directly across from the Tedeschi convenience store, NOT the entrance next to the Somerville Theatre) or walk 15 minutes along College Avenue to the Tufts campus. If you board the bus, you will get off at the stop titled “Boston Avenue at Tufts Garage.” The bus stop is across the street from a large, seven-story parking garage. Enter the garage at the ground level and walk toward the elevators, directly across from the Tufts University Police Department headquarters. Take the elevator to the 7th floor.

Shared Vans and Hotel Shuttles:
Many van companies offer shared van service to area hotels. Although it may take you a little bit longer to arrive at your destination, it is typically much cheaper, especially if you are traveling on your own (around $15 per person). If you are staying in a hotel, call the hotel first to see if they provide a free shuttle or if there is a shuttle company that they recommend.
